Gill was brought up on the family farm and originally qualified as a butcher and opened her own shop before moving to Yorkshire where she founded the Yorkshire Baker in 2007.

A seasoned artisan baker in 2019 she founded North Yorkshire-based The Original Baker, which specializes in premium, award winning hand-crafted pies, sausage rolls, and pastries for independent delis and farm shops.
